Microsoft Office is running slow or is having issues [ Office 2013 & newer only]

For all Office 2013 & above

  If your Microsoft Office application is running very slow or has issues, try rolling it back a version or to the most current version.


* Open command prompt (run as admin)

type in: cd  C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun


* Type in the version you want to upgrade to or rollback : officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.10827.20138


Please note:  The following digits after the first 2 go up as the builds are release. As an example, for office 2016, the version number is 16.0.10827.20138



Please refer to the link below for all versions of office to determine which is best for you. You can find your current version of office by opening Office application (i.e. Word, Outlook, etc.) and go to File > Office Account> About  Outlook <office application>
